Open Gym Announcement
Good afternoon everyone. Happy Friday.
I wanted to write a quick member message concerning those of you who utilize Kilo 2 for open gym. Particularly folks who are choosing to do some training while class is in session.
First off, I’m happy that you are taking advantage of when the gym is open and training when you can fit it into your schedule. This is the whole reason why I opened this place, so people can workout. Please know that I am aware of your busy lives and I want to be respectful of your time and how you use it. With that being said our classes that we offer still are our main operation of business.
The class is what glues our community together and everyone who is in a class deserves utmost respect. So, those of you who are training on your own while a class is in session please take a second and look at what the class needs for equipment and space on the white board or ask the coach who is teaching the class and they can help set you up in a spot where it won’t interrupt class. Most of you do this already and it is greatly appreciated. If you see that the class has fewer than 10 people then it really isn’t a concern and you’ll more than likely be able to train wherever you please in the gym. But if you see there are more than 10 people and the class is deadlifting perhaps where a lot of weight is needed then it isn’t a wise idea to grab a bunch of weight prior to the class finishing what they need to finish. Make sure the class needs what they need. Additionally remember that space is just as important. If you are trying to do a separate wod from the class and need space for your wod then you may have to wait until the class is at the cap or make sure that you can complete all your movements in a space that isn’t interfering any other members in the class. This is non negotiable. Thank you for understanding.
As many of you know, people’s schedules change and or people are moving in and out of town causing our classes to change in size throughout the year. Right now 5am is very busy 15+ and 4/5pm is busy 15+ consistently. The rest of our classes are consistently between 5-15 people depending on the day so this gives you an idea on being strategic perhaps on when you want to do your extra stuff. If it has to be during these busy classes, that’s fine but please consult the coach of that hour and figure out how all parties needs can be met because I know we have the space and equipment to make it happen, there just has to be some thought put into it before things get out of hand.
Have a great weekend.
