July 29, 2019 Clinton Tebbs Memorial WOD
It is with a very heavy heart that I have to share this horrible news. Today we acknowledge a really terrible loss. Clinton Tebbs was as you all know a member of CrossFit Kilo 2 for 3 years. He was one of our original members and began right after we opened our doors back in 2016. Prior to moving to Iowa City for school Clinton served our country in the Navy. He worked hard during his time in Iowa City pursuing a degree and later graduated with a degree in engineering and moved back home to Texas where he was just getting his career started. He was an accomplished athlete and student, but more importantly Clinton Tebbs was a phenomenal friend. He was the kind of guy that would introduce himself to anybody and make conversation with anybody. It didn’t matter if he had something in common with them at first or not, he would eventually find something to connect about. His relationships with his friends and family from my eyes were so strong because he kept his friends and family close to his heart. He had a HUGE heart. It was FULL of love! I know I felt it every time he walked through our doors. I often got frustrated with him when he wouldn’t come to the gym not because he was going to miss a workout but because I just loved having him around. He was outstanding company to our members and staff. He brought laughter and positivity to so many people. He often spent time before and after workouts just chatting with people because he was always in the friendliest of moods and that’s what I will always remember about Clinton. His big cheez’n smile would light up the darkest of rooms. It would brighten your day and remind you to live your life with love and laughter. That’s how he lived his life. Sadly his life was cut short from an accident in the Lewisville Lake in Texas on Saturday. I can’t believe he is gone. We will not forget you Clinton. In your memory on July 29 we will have a workout dedicated to you with some of your favorite exercises. RIP Clinton
